Protecting Our Malleefowl

The purpose of the New South Wales Malleefowl Recovery Group (NSWMRG) is to aid in the conservation of Malleefowl by carrying out annual monitoring of the NSW population. This monitoring program is part of the National Recovery Plan to help save the endangered Malleefowl. It is a collaborative effort supported by the National Malleefowl Recovery Group and in conjunction with regional Natural Resource Management organisations in NSW. Our monitoring is conducted by volunteers and is part of one of the largest single species monitoring programs in the country.
